The Vatican has released the official program for the apostolic journey of Pope Leo XIV, which includes a major stop in Cameroon from April 15 to 18, 2026. The Holy Father will arrive at Yaoundé–Nsimalen International Airport before beginning a series of meetings with national authorities, civil society representatives, and members of the diplomatic corps in Yaoundé. His schedule also includes a visit to the Ngul Zamba orphanage and a private encounter with bishops of Cameroon.
During the visit, the Pope will travel to Bamenda for a peace meeting with the local community at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral and will celebrate a public Mass at Bamenda International Airport. He will also visit Douala, where he is scheduled to preside over Mass at Japoma Stadium and visit Saint Paul Catholic Hospital. The trip will conclude with a final Mass in Yaoundé before his departure for Angola.
